My wife has that problem with Windows 7 from time to time and I notice the issue periodically as well. While the drive won't show up in a normal Explorer window when you click on Network, it's there, but you need to know the name or the IP.

I the Explorer navigation window at the top, just type either the name or IP with a \\ in front, e.g. \\nasf46b77 or \\10.10.10.132.
