I plan to run LMS on my headless Mac Mini...

which I use as an audio-only music player in my main system, along with a 3TB Thunderbolt hard drive which contains CD rips and a few hi-rez downloads.

That is, when the LeCie fixes it and it's back from the shop. :-(

That should let me use the Pi anywhere there is an ethernet jack (most rooms of the house) as a streamer and listen to anything on the hard drive.

I am told, but do not know for certain, that LMS can be loaded onto a second Pi, with a USB Drive attached to it, and act as a server as well?

Have not tried it as yet and as long as I have the Mac Mini on all the time, perhaps don't need to do that?
