Comcast uses I believe the Cable Line for the internet, you are on a shared node to the neighborhood, so when your neighbors are streaming netflix during prime time hours your internet will suffer.
some lucky people such as myself (I have a dedicated fiber line and do not share the bandwidth at the phone pole) and I think Ivan303 here says he has gigabit fiber (WOW!) don't have that problem.
The bandwidth situation is very slow in the US unless your lucky to have a dedicated line you are stuck with cable. The companies run fiber to the neighborhood, then a spiders web of coaxial cable shares that main pipe. So 150mbps is not really that at high traffic times with Cable.
