RE: Isn't there a clock on the HiFiBerry board?

Keeps time I guess.

I'm guessing that if the RPi didn't have a clock to generate the I2S signal it would be impossible for it to have a I2S out via GPIO -and- it would be impossible for anything to lock onto a I2S signal coming from the RPi.

Thats my EWAG on the subject.

Audiophiles tend to over-think and over-do everything so a reclocker + a Regen + a few more clocks, gadgets and do-dads should make it sound better.
