RE: ESS9028 dac with filter combinations

Just a quick note about the sharp and slow filter settings. While not as sophisticated, and not dual ESS9028, the Gustard X12 DAC features two switchable filter options that seem to have become more distinct, more obvious after an extended break-in time. The sharp setting sounds a bit more analytical without sounding too sterile, with a slightly more streamlined presentation, while the slow setting sounds a bit more relaxed, somewhat more laid back, less assertive without sounding too warm. These differences in the sonic signature are subtle, but are distinct from an audiophile perspective. I don't consider one setting to sound superior vs. the other, since there are a number of factors elsewhere in a system including cabling, and even program material that that may affect the most favorable choice, at any given time.
