I've had a similar problem on Windows, but not recently. The issue was related to special characters in the password, some of which required escape sequences. I don't recall the details, as my HDtracks download manager has had the password for some time, but I anticipate a new bout of fighting if I have to reenter it. I suspect this is related to java and java runtime issues and the HDtracks java code. But it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't problems with some other aspects of the Mac platform.
