First, his claim that the USB input was subpar does not jibe with my listening tests (and others', including Chris's). Second, his claim that the 1.5 requires the upgraded PS to sound good is just plain ridiculous. (This from a guy who even complained about the use of the control wheel on the front of the unit, which is a most silly claim - even the editor teased him by footnote). The 1.5 sounded fine to me as is. I did feel the 2.5 had a bit more dynamics, and I liked the display and analog input, but then again it's more dough.
But if you like what you have now, why upgrade? I would not do that unless you don't like your current DAC or, if you like it, are able to compare the two in your system before buying.
