Absurd Postal Charges

I have been trying to buy a Snapstream PC Remote in Europe.
Go to the Sanapstream site and they want $65 postage for a $49 remote.
Sanpstream recommended a Norwegian (I think) retailer called Vendur and they want e38 for postage to the EU.
These are absurd charges and I wonder how anyone can justify them?
Does anyone know of an honest retailer with reasonable postal rates?
These vendors are stupid if they use FedEx or UPS who impose another e10 plus charge for presentation to customs. Why can't they use the excellent national post offices? Unless of course if they make money out of posting, which is even more stupid.
