I too noticed problems with my sound card's digital out ever since I got my new MHDT dac. I have a USB to Toslink device called the MD-PORT DG1. I got it a looong time ago and it was intended for minidisc players with a toslink input, but it seems to work with my DAC just fine. This device installs with default windows drivers and I can select it as the output device in winamp if I want.
My question is, Do you think there is an advantage to buying this HagUSB thingie or is the device I have essentially the same thing? (it was a similar price point back in the day... and it was designed for the same reasons, to avoid the noise and problems with internal cards)
I now have a NON-OS DAC that can really sing and I want to use it's full potential.
