"... a healthy dose of this wasn't expected?"You're right. I didn't anticipate things like this because I've never worked with a just-recently-released OS before. Furthermore,I came to Vista from W2K, not XP.
Anyhow... the problems are largely resolved with the (not yet officially released) SlimServer 6.5.2 software (available at Slimdevices.com.
I got the new computer (HP Pavilion, dual AMD 64 processors, 2GB RAM) 4 days ago, and now have it beautifully organized. I must say that I am loving it.
