EAC in practice: do you do other work on your PC while ripping CDs?

Preparations are under way for an eventual music server. I've begun ripping my CD collection using EAC, FLAC codec, and AccurateRip. It's all pretty straightforward, except I have a sort of lame question:

Do you do other work on your PC while ripping your CDs? I'm hesitant to do much else on the PC while ripping - especially work that requires lots of disk reads/writes. Is that paranoia or is there a case to be made for limiting the amount of work you do while ripping?

It's not I'm anti-social,
I'm only anti-work,
Glory Osky, that's why I'm a jerk!
