I currently use Maxtor as well. They have been good. I say stick with them. As far as NAS goes, I built my own with an old PC. This might not be your best choice since you need quiet in the room.If you want to get "crazy" you could always go with Sun Microsystems StorageTek 5320 NAS appliance. Currently they go up to 224 Terabytes. They start at around $42K, I gather that's more than some people spend on their audio systems however :)
