I'm quiet experienced with PC audio and have researched and built several audio PCs in the past. Now I need a new audio PC for a system set up in a different location. I don't want to hassle with bulding something from scratch this time.I'm streaming wirelessly to Slim Devices Transporter -- awesome toy, BTW -- so this time around I don't need a quiet PC, or a soundcard, or even a display, since I can remote desktop in when needed.
I'm basically looking for something compact and cheap, with enough HD space to store 120 GB of FLAC files + run the XP OS. My music is backed up in two places, so I don't need a RAID or anything fancy.
Any suggestions? One thought was to get a vert cheap laptop and install a 160GB drive... But a small desktop might also work.
