But it still uses the bottom end of the windows audio stack.
ASIO goes right to the audio hardware and does not use the windows audio stack.
Whether there is an audible difference or just an "ASIO feel good" from native ASIO drivers is a good question. But there is definately a difference in how the audio data is streamed.
