Hello everybody! After reading a lot of posts here I decided to try to move from cdp to a pc-based server with Lynx soundcard, but this is where all the confusion begins....
1. Why USB DAC?
2. What software player to use to play a complete rb cd from memory (RAM)? I have 2 gb of RAM, so that is enough for appr. 3 hours.
3. If I already have a VERY GOOD (Accuphase) dac, what digital input can I use to get best performance from Lynx: digital XLR (balanced), coaxial or optical, Does Lynx card support them?
4. What is all this clock talk? (Shall I use the dac's clock or Lynx's?)
4. What Lynx card to use if I am completely satisfied with 2 ch stereo?
Please help, because I am lost here.
Serge.
P.S. Ripping is not a problem as I rip with EAC from SCSI Plextor drive. HDDs are ultrafast SCSI 320 Seagates, so this part is simple.
