Thanks your comments were helpful. I think I was so swamped with the details of why the setup wasn't working I forgot to look at the feedback I'm getting from the unit.
I have an SBv.3 (bottom of the unit). There are no apparent screw-in connectors for an antenna, so I believe I have a wireless version as the SB can tell me the quality of the connection (77%), that I'm using 64 Bit Encryption, and other information about my network, etc. that seems to indicate that it's a wireless setup.However, Slimserver still cannot find my player, so there's something amiss. What? I don't know that yet. If you have any bright ideas or ideas that are brighter than my dark thoughts/bumbling, your input would be appreciated.
