Phono outputs come in two flavors - Moving magnet (stronger) and Moving coil (very weak). They can not be hooked up in LINE IN inputs of a preamp or other device.
If Hageman is speciffically designed for Phono input, you can not hook up LINE OUT of a tape deck to it.
However, I have read that reel to reel enthusist hook up output of the tape heads directly to MC preamp to bypass deck electronics. I do not know how that is done and what they do with RIAA curve equalisation of phono inputs not needed for line in.
Any good external USB audio card with own power supply will fit your bill. Hovewer, for the best results, use HHB professional CD recorder.
It is capable to recognize each track on the tape, so it is essentially fire and forget.
