Art,All this is doing is similating key strokes in Foobar. It is the same as pressing keys on a key board. THe signal that is sent (num 3 and Num 9) from the Tragus remote is just reassigned in Foobar to do the volume up and down.
THe global setting just means that Foobar will react to that keystroke regardless of which program is the active window. If that is unchecked in the foobar setup, then Foobar will only react if its window is opened. In my case, I was using a 2nd program to manage the content, and Foobar was just a pass through player.
Foobar interacts with the ASIO drivers directly, and will control the volume.
