Hello,I finally got XP on a computer and installed ITunes 4.6 from a 2 year old 40g Ipod. I belong to EMusic.com service and download 'paid for' music in MP3 format. I archive the directories to data disc and I burn them to CDR as well. Today, I was able to upload the files from each method to the ITunes library, where they show up and play fine from the PC, but they don't seem to transfer into the Ipod, whereas, two Joy Division CDs went in without a hitch, so I have the process down to a degree and things are working.
Am I right in assumming that I cannot upload these 'copy-protected?' files to my Ipod, only songs purchased from Apple ITunes music store?
Is there a way to convert them to another format? I seemed to have converted them, or the ITunes 4.6 did, th MPEG4/ACC format, so they are fine on that end.
Thank you kindly for any help, as I'm new to all of this.
Chris
