I should have made that clearer.

EAC rips to WAV, then converts the WAV to FLAC, adding the tags. Then it deletes the WAV unless you choose not to in the options. So it's the same end result as if it did rip directly to FLAC with no end user intervention. I did my whole collection this way also (about 850 CDs). Works great.
