Spectrum Lab is a decent choice for real time

216.66.113.3

Another alternative to Audacity is to use Spectrum Lab. This one is intended to be used as a real-time spectrum analyzer. It listens to the soundcard input and produces spectral analysis and spectragrams of that signal in real time.

It's a little funny get get setup. I had a little trouble the first time I used it...I could barely figure out how to get it to start running.

But, once you figure out how to get it to go and how to show the frequencies that you are interested in, it runs like a rock. It's pretty impressive.

The Ham radio guys love it for looking at base-banded signals. I think that that was its original purpose. I use it exclusively for audio analysis.

Good Luck,
