Re: foobar 0.9.4.1 and ASIO Virtual Device ??

Hey E,

I know what you mean about Hydrogen. I suggested that a user not rip to Mp3, and was reminded of the rules and that I needed some proof of what I was saying. They seemed to not believe my Foobar ABX of a 192 vbr mp3 (which they say is transparent- not descernable from the original)vs. the original .wav. I was 14 for 15 on the abx test on a regular computer using onboard sound out to a pair of decent headphones....

ANyhow, about your questions. It might say virtual, but it isn't.

I am using 9.3, so I will asume things are close enough.

YOu are right that there doesn't seem to be a control for changing bit rate. BUt, there IS for Direct sound, and I change it to 32 bit, saved it, then activated ASIO. THe 32 bit remained although it was greyed out. ANyhow the Lynx mixer reports 32 bit output from Foobar.

Well, that is what I THOUGHT before I tried testing my conclusion. ANyhow, no matter what I set DS to, the ASIO out is ALWAYS 32 bit.

Wish I had more info, but that is about all I know.
