Winamp - direct sound out sounds a little better than Foobar with ASIO - foobar much better with ASIO but winamp still slightly better, noticeable on A/B'ing -My wife just walked in and asked "is that the same recording" versus what I was playing yesterday in foobar with no ASIO _grin_
Interestingly, I dunno how it should have anything to do with it in any way, but no pops/clicks so far since I installed ASIO - even if foobar isn't running - I didn't reboot so I guess something could be up in TSR memory - or could be something else.
If they come back I'll check out the things you mentioned.
