That cap determines the lower cutoff frequency of the DAC. Too small and you lose bass. Too big is not an issue.I'm using 100uF oil/film ASC caps on the ouput of my Altmann. Way bigger than needed but that's what I had laying around. They are physically kind of big but cheap enough and they sound great. You should give them a try. Here's a link to Allied Electronics.
