burning cd with dvd issue

Hello everyone,
I have a Lite-on shw1635s dvd writer. All is fine, but I have the skipping in the car problem. Its a pain in the rear having to transfer files over my LAN and use my Son's PC to burn with his LG cd writer. I burn at the slowest speed 8x and it doesn't help. The disks play fine on other equipment, and I've tried various flavours of disk. I've burnt with Nero, Ulead and Wavelab, but to no avail. Can anyone throw me some Light-on it?
