Re: upsampling to say 96 kHz

The soundcard has to support output of whatever rate you want to upsample to. My M-Audio cards support upsampling to 96Khz. Some cards will support up to 192Khz, and others only to 48Khz.

There are plugins for Foobar that support upsampling. One is included with the distribution, and another plugin called Secret Rabbit Code offers a better algorythm. I have heard that J River supports upsampling but have not been able to confirm it myself.

I don't know about i-tunes now mp3toys. I have been using Foobar for music, although I may try J River soon.
