From what I understand, it depends on how the USB-SPDIF circuit is implemented. I use a Hagerman HagUSB USB-SPDIF converter, which then feeds my DAC. FWIW, the Audionote DACs, when optioned with a USB input, use the HagUSB board.--I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for some new music today.
