Mark, you do not need a sound card, you need USB to SPDIF adapter. there is a seller on Ebay from Hong Kong who sells USB>SPDIF adapters for $29 + shipping.
I have listened to one last night and it works like charm. I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
Use $30 glass toslink to isolate your PC from your dac and you are set.
