I need a PC to SPDIF module that can auto-switch between clock rates. Not a problem with PCI, but all external converters I have tried - both USB and firewire - either convert or expect manual switching, which is a real problem as I play mixed lists of 44.1Kb & 48Kb files. Analogue is decent quality and relatively unforgiving Benchmark DAC1 & Lowther EX3 drive units, sometimes with a power amp, sometimes just using DAC1 headphone amps.Currently use TOS from Terratec Universe card, considering Lynx 22, but as some of my boxes are now micro ATX, would prefer not to have internal card. Sound files are typicaly MP2, MPC, and APE.
Any suggestions? Perhaps Empirical Freeway?
