Re: Paging Tuckers - Slaving Sound Card to DAC

The Lynx will not work with the SDIF clocks in the 972. The clcok rate shows 44.1 but the lock rate is vastly different! It will work with the 954 at the native sampling rate with NO upsampling on the 972.

It will also not work with a Swissonic 20ppm WC with Synclock on. The Lynx tries to lock on, nearly achieves lock, then gives up, leading to pumping.

It will work with Synclock defeated and sounds good; clearer than with internal clock engaged but longer term listening is needed.

I am not sure I like the Synlock PLL on the internal clock either. Seems to 'dull' the sound a little.

The Swissonic clock looks good on the Scope although I don't know what the jitter is. The Lynx clock output on Connector B doesn't look so good, much noisier along the top hat of the square wave.

It may be interesting to use the Lynx word clock as an external clock to see what happens.
