Hey, I'd been thinking about doing the same thing. I found a bunch of small monitors out there on the web. But, I really wanted to touch and feel one before I purchsed. Living in a small state, I don't have that kind of opportunity. So, I've done nothing about it yet.Some good choices are shown on this page...especially the ones at the bottom...

7" Widescreen, with Touch Sensitivity and High Resolution up to 1600 x 1200...sweet.
Note that none have the video coming over USB. I think that they have the video coming over a standard VGA connector.
