MacBook is 6 meters from DAC, options?

Hi,
I am close to purchasing a MacBook to use iTunes into my system (attached via ethernet to a file server). It will be placed approx. 6 meters from my DAC. My question is if 6 meters is too long for using the MacBook's optical audio out? Will there be a lot of extra jitter due to this length? My DAC is a Benchmark DAC1, which is suppose to have great jitter rejection, will this help out? Or should I just go for a USB option?
