Best way to back up iTunes on an iMac/Intel

Seems iTunes does not have a good way to back up its data.
150 gigs of CDs is not going to fit on DVDs nor Dot Mac. I've got a 250 gig external firewire drive but there is no good and easy way to load the iTune library. Am I missing something here?
