There are several kit amps based on the National Chip Amp ... good quality = less than 0.003% distortion. There may be production amps as well. http://www.national.com/pf/LM/LM4702.html

Also I agree with other posters here ... you might check your power supply out. I used to have the same problem with Class-D amp from panasonic = fatige from the sound after about an hour from the sound. Turned out that there just wasn't enough capacitance in the power supply. I have since added more and the difference is significant. (Basically the old caps "run outta gas" after a whole.)
