Re: Compression level for FLAC in dbPowerAMP?

What I've found with the flac.exe is that going from the default setting of 5 to the maximum compression setting of 8 results in a couple of tenths of a percent reduction in file size in exchange for making the compression process take much longer. I can't remember the exact figure, but level 8 took something like 2 or 3 times as long as level 5. You might try an experiment with a single track, timing it and looking at file sizes and seeing what results in the best compromise between speed and compression. But there is only a small improvement in compression when going from 5 to 8 in my experience.
