There are several.The most common one is of course to get rid of the switching power supply and make your own linear supply, this does improve things.
Anothe commone is to remove the whole output stage and run the DAC output directly out of the box, this can sound very good depending on what you are driving with it. It needs short ICs and a high impedance input. (this is a much better improvement than the simple PS change). And my favorite which is the crystal replacement with really low jitter clocks, its not that hard to do and I personally think it makes a bigger improvement than either of the above. This is a little tough to do in the SB3 since there is so littl eroom "under the hood", its a piece of cake in the SB2. Its a lot easier if you don't have the wireless version since you can put the new clocks and regulator where the wireless board normally goes.
