Re: details of car player?

You did not give any info about your type of CD player in the car nor the brand of CDR used.

Remember that CDR disks are only about 70% as reflective as commercially manufactured CDs. Some car players, especially if they are a few years old, may not handle CDR disks well, or may picky about which brand they like. Normally this will reveal itself as skips or perhaps static sound.

However, lossless compression means that all the data is still there. Unless there is some error or configuration error, the CDR should sound the same as the original unless the player cannot properly handle the disk.

I would also note that most car audio systems - even expensive ones - are not particularly "revealing", due to road and engine noise and the constraints of asymmetric seating in the passenger compartment. I'd think the level of error must be pretty high to notice a difference between disks under those conditions.
