Like you, I have a "Ripped Flacs" folder that all of my .flacs go into. But I go one step further and add a new folder for each CD that I rip. The naming scheme is: Artist (Last, First) - Albumfor example:
Rollins, Sonny - East Broadway Run DownThis works for me for whole albums. Although iTunes and others alphabetize with the first name, the librarian in me likes having last-name first.
There is an easy fix for your problem of playlists being erased when you click on a song outside Foobar. Go to your Foobar Preferences-->General-->Commandline--> click on the tab next to the option that reads Always send to playlist and name the playlist something like "outside".
