Re: Video card without a fan

Heh, and I thought I was a big video card cheapskate :-). It's probably okay for a machine that's only being used as a server. If you are doing much else with it, you might consider other cards. The guy in the office next to mine had a G450 and it would crash in OpenGL applications with a BSOD. Matrox used to be very good about 5 years ago, but when nVidia and ATI began to dominate the market, Matrox began to slide. I had a couple of G400 cards and had some problems with video artifacts that they never fixed. But it's been a while since I've used them.

Nowadays, I get the cheapo third party ATI cards such as this one or this one.
