Are there any issues with using the PC while EAC is ripping?

Is it OK to use my PC while EAC ripps or can this adversly effect the sound/rip quality. I believe that with Itunes it can be an issue. I use a fanless AMD Athalon 64 3000 + 1.8 GHZ, 512 MB of ram.
