I haven't burned a CDR or RW for some time, but when I found that my generic CD drive couldn't read some copy protected discs I bought a Pioneer DVR-108 and haven't had a problem since - there is comment on a number of sites that as a generalisation, DVD writers can read discs which CD readers/writers cannot.David
