Whew! I'm glad that I'm not the only one.

It's nice to see that someone else is not afraid to say so. The best sounding compressed file is the one that has never been compressed in the first place (manipulated?). I don't have an Ipod or the need to compress my music, but I have messed around with the apple lossless format and I easily prefer the AIFF format.

To go out on a further limb, I also prefer spinning a CD in real time and listening to the music as it plays. I have not found that a computer drive and USB dac sound better than my CD transport and S/Pdif DAC.

Still, I try to keep my mind open and I hope to keep learning.
