Hello,
I am ready to bring up my rewired Futterman H3. I have used a variac to bring up the amp without tubes to check the transformer and power regulation capacitors. All seems fine.
Normally I would populate the amp with tubes and bring it up with the variac, but the mentioned voltage regulation tubes require a minimum voltage to start operating. Not sure if that will be an issue or not, and wonder if anyone has gone through this process and has any suggestions.
Also planning to put a resistive 'load' on the input to avoid any potential oscillation, as well as some old speakers on the output for a load (and to hear any unwanted going ons).
Pretty careful with my work, but a little wary of just flipping the 120 volt switch .....
regards -- Roger
