One other possible factor that occurred to me is whether the Transcendent, or the Silvaweld in question, is capacitor-coupled. We know that there were a few Futterman-derived circuits that did away with the coupling capacitors by using a servo network of some kind (KSS and Counterpoint, for examples). Those designs were notoriously unstable, and they gave Futterman, and OTLs in general, a bad name that was not deserved.
