Actually, the synth company is/was ARP, and the 2600 WAS one of their synths in the early/mid 70's.Just listen to any number of Genesis albums from that time period and you'll hear Tony Banks play the 2600 (amongst a few other notables ARPs and Moog 'boards of the era)... (besides grand piano and Hammond L series organs)...
Oh yes, I happen to own a 2600- finicky bastard board it is (but hey, isn't ALL old analog?)...
