I had thought of a similar idea years ago. I was thinking also that it might be cool to bolt one panel in front of the other in such a way that the panels acoustically reinforced each other and you also got a push-pull magnet, as well as higher impedance. Seemed like a good idea but I never got going with it. But if you went in that direction, you could have a 32 ohm speaker and be getting more power with less tubes!
