Tell us more abut the 6C19Pi. What is the plate resistance, mu, Gm, for example? As you probably know, using a resistor in series with the speaker will just burn up output power in the form of heat in the resistor. Plus, resistors have a sonic signature (as do capacitors). Better to make your amplifier do the job without that band-aid.
