Do you mean to say that the whole output stage is fused by one single 1.2A fuse or that each output tube has its own 1.2A fuse? If the former is true, then you are severely limiting the output current that can be tolerated before the fuse blows, assuming your amplifier is capable of more than 10 or so Watts into an 8-ohm load. Does the fuse in fact blow frequently? In my Atma-sphere MA240 amplifiers, each single 6C33C tube is protected by a 1.5A fuse. Occasionally one of these blows, if I really push the system, but this has no chance of damaging the speakers, etc. In fact, most of the time I am unaware that a fuse has blown until I notice that the sound is not quite as fantastic as it usually is. At those moments, I immediately and first of all check the fuses.
