Lew,This is something I've been mulling over. So far, I haven't gone this way for several reasons..
- The filament wiring area is already crowded, and I'm not sure how practical a larger gauge wire is (one large enough to support the fils in the 6336).
- So far, I plan to have the amp use the same fixed-bias setup as the S-30.. I'd need a way to adjust the bias, if I wanted to run 6336
- I'd prefer a ceramic socket for the 6336, and the amp is currently being built with standard parts.
- Finally, I don't own any 6336s, much less eight of them.
But it's still worth considering, and should I come across some tubes, I'd probably give it a go.
