Fostex R100T as impedance matching autoformer?

83.28.103.251

Hi,
I have some ideas but being no expert I have some questions. There are so called "zero autoformers" used as "impedance matching devices". These are autotransformers with multiple taps - sort of variac - only differently, 'manually' adjusted, without rotary switches or slides.
Am I right?
And there is Fostex R100T - "transformer attenuator" i.e. it is also a variac only with more taps and adjusted with a rotary switch.
Am I right?
Fostex says that R100T's power handling is 100W w/network.
What could be the power handling of R100T when it is run full range?
My idea is to use R100T as a more flexible and higher quality "zero autoformer" with low powered amp and a crossoverless speakers. I need very little power - I listen at SPL approaching 85 dB in peaks only. I assume that with efficient speakers I need no more than a fraction of watt of power. Could R100T handle this?
Is it feasible or am I dreaming?
greetings
graaf
ps.
sorry for my possibly clumsy english :)
